Our Greenhouse
Flying Tater Farm's greenhouse is located on the farm grounds in Calhoun City, MS. Each February, plants are purchased from Mississippi State University Research Center in Pontotoc, MS. Once purchased, Flying Tater Farm's staff plants the cuttings by hand and continue to cut and transplant each plant until the greenhouse is full. It usually takes two and a half to three months to completely fill the greenhouse. During these months, the plants are watered and fertilized daily. They are also monitored rigorously for insects that carry diseases. After the greenhouse is full, the plants are cut and transplanted into the field where they are continuously monitored. Flying Tater Farm is a Certified Clean Seed grower and only use these seed potatoes that are grown and harvested on the farm for their crop and customers.
